Excited about a new Bitmain product getting released? So are we! However, there’s some gotchas with the Bitmain preorder process that it’s important to understand before embarking on this journey. We’ve outlined the most important items below.
Delivery Date
Bitmain preorders are typically grouped into monthly batches based on the expected delivery date. Depending on many factors, these delivery dates can shift from the original quoted date further out to the future. We don't make any guarantees on delivery dates for this reason- the schedule is completely up to Bitmain's discretion. Depending on demand some preorders can get delivered months after their originally scheduled date, so it's best to plan accordingly.
Hashrate Changes
In the past, Bitmain has accepted preorders for a certain hashrate (e.g. 122 TH/s) and then delivered a unit with a different hashrate (e.g. 120TH/s). When this happens, they will issue refunds based on the $/TH value that was paid during the preorder. Please see below for an example. If this happens, we will always pass through the full refund amount back to you.
Original purchase of 122T preorder: $3,050 ($25 / TH)
Hashrate delivered: 120TH/s
